PHILADELPHIA (AP) -Shawn Andrews will practice for the first time since reinjuring his surgically repaired back during the first day of training camp.
Andrews, a two-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman for the Eagles, will take part in the Eagles’ abbreviated practice on Saturday afternoon at the team’s NovaCare Complex.
Philadelphia coach Andy Reid plans to bring him back slowly. Andrews hopes to be ready for the Sept. 13 season opener against Carolina.
He has been penciled in as the team’s starting right tackle after playing right guard his first five years in the league.
He had back surgery last year and has been out since reinjuring his back during a running drill late in July.
