CORTLAND, N.Y. (AP) -Jets coach Rex Ryan has spoken with Tony Dungy “man-to-man” about the former NFL coach’s criticism of him for his use of profanity in HBO’s “Hard Knocks” series.
Ryan says Thursday that Dungy will take up his offer to come out and be the team’s guest at practice. No date has been set for the visit, Ryan says, but he’s excited for Dungy to see “what we’re all about.”
Ryan said Wednesday that Dungy, a devout Christian, unfairly judged him for his foul language on the television show. Dungy told “The Dan Patrick Show” on Monday that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell should talk to Ryan about his excessive cursing.
Ryan says Dungy told him his position, and “I definitely told him my position” during their “good” telephone conversation.
