BOURBONNAIS, Ill. (AP) -Running back Matt Forte no longer needs to be the Chicago Bears’ iron man.
The Bears signed veteran Chester Taylor away from NFC North rival Minnesota, hoping to give Forte some help.
Forte acknowledges he spent much of 2009 playing in pain from a knee injury while he failed to live up to high preseason expectations. He rushed for 929 yards.
Forte and Taylor are both versatile – a key in the new offense being installed by offensive coordinator Mike Martz.
