MIAMI (AP) -A suspect in the slaying of Washington Redskins star Sean Taylor is expected to be in a Miami courtroom to ask to have his guilty plea withdrawn.
A hearing was scheduled Friday on the request by 21-year-old Venjah Hunte. He pleaded guilty last year and agreed to testify against four co-defendants in exchange for a 29-year sentence.
The 24-year-old player died after being shot in an attempted robbery at his home in November 2007. He was an All-Pro safety with the Redskins who starred in college at the University of Miami.
All five suspects are from the Fort Myers area. Their trial is currently set for Jan. 18.
