NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -Defensive end Simeon Rice’s tour of NFL teams brought him to Tennessee Titans headquarters Friday, and he was gone after a few hours.
General manager Mike Reinfeldt said the team gave Rice a physical exam. Reinfeldt and coach Jeff Fisher also met with the 12-year veteran.
Rice, who also got a physical with the New York Giants on Wednesday, is expected to meet with other teams.
“I think that’s something that might interest him,” Reinfeldt said. “He may take some other visits. We’d be OK with that because we’re going through the process ourselves trying to get the physical stuff together. We’ll see where it goes.”
The Titans had 26 sacks last season, a big drop from 41 in 2005.
Tampa Bay waived Rice last week because of an injured shoulder. His 121 sacks are second only to Michael Strahan’s 132 1/2 among active players.
“He went on his way,” Fisher said. “A very pleasant visit. I don’t have results of the physical. That was the intent. Give him a physical, so we can build a file on players like that.”
The only players the Titans added Friday were a couple of defensive tackles using exemptions from NFL Europa, Lavale Sate and Quartez Vickerson.
