BEREA, Ohio (AP) -Joe Haden signed his name on the dotted line and then a day later took the field for the Cleveland Browns for the first time.
The first-round draft pick, taken seventh overall, worked out at cornerback as the Browns went through their second day of camp on Sunday in high heat and humidity before around 3,000 fans at their practice facility.
The former Florida defensive back held out until signing a five-year deal on Saturday worth $50 million, with $26 million guaranteed. He passed a conditioning test before his first practice.
He posted messages to his Twitter account before Sunday’s practice that said, “Love being back with the team. … I’m happy to be here.”
He is expected to battle fifth-year veteran Eric Wright at the one corner spot.
