JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -The Jacksonville Jaguars are looking for another starting receiver.
They spent the past decade trying to replace stars Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell. They used first-round draft picks on R. Jay Soward, Reggie Williams and Matt Jones. They spent millions on free agents Dennis Northcutt, Jerry Porter and Torry Holt.
None of them panned out, and none of them are around anymore.
Jacksonville may have solved half its long-standing problem last year, when Mike Sims-Walker emerged as the go-to guy. As for the other half? The Jaguars are hoping to figure that out in training camp.
It’s the team’s most intriguing position battle, with Jarett Dillard, Clarence Denmark, Nate Hughes, Kassim Osgood, Mike Thomas, Troy Williamson and Tiquan Underwood in the mix.
