GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) – The Packers have signed longtime general manager Ted Thompson to a multiyear contract extension.
The deal was announced after practice Wednesday. The team did not release terms, and Thompson declined to say the length of the new deal.
Thompson is entering his 10th season as the head of football operations. The Packers have won four NFC North titles overall and the Super Bowl in the 2010 season since Thompson took over in Green Bay.
The 61-year-old Thompson said he feels energized. He said he might take more quick trips home to his native Texas a little more often to see family, but had no plans to delegate authority.
Thompson said the next priority is to sign coach Mike McCarthy to an extension.
