MIAMI (AP) -The Miami Dolphins signed free agent cornerback Chris Roberson on Wednesday and waived rookie cornerback Scorpio Babers to make room on the 80-man roster.
Roberson was a seventh-round draft pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2005. He had two tackles in six games with the Jaguars in his rookie season after spending the first 10 games on the practice squad.
He spent all of 2006 on Jacksonville's injured reserve list with a shoulder injury before being waived in training camp last year.
Roberson played running back at Eastern Michigan as a freshman, wide receiver as a sophomore and junior, and cornerback as a senior.
