NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -Tennessee defensive lineman Ulrich Winkler has a torn left anterior cruciate ligament, and the Titans have replaced him with defensive tackle Eric Taylor.
Winkler hurt his left knee during practice Monday afternoon and was able to walk off the field with assistance. A native of Munich, Germany, Winkler was in camp for a second straight year with the Titans after being on their practice squad last season through an NFL Europa exemption.
Coach Jeff Fisher said Winkler was here this time because they thought he would be a good player to have in camp.
But Winkler was waived in time for Taylor to be added to the roster handed out Tuesday morning. Once Winkler clears waivers, the Titans expect to place him on injured reserve.
