DALLAS (AP) -Sports broadcaster Pat Summerall was recovering Friday from emergency surgery to stop internal bleeding, his wife said.
Cheri Summerall said her 78-year-old husband was resting comfortably Friday in a Dallas-area hospital. Doctors told her that a new medicine he had recently started taking caused a reaction that induced the bleeding.
The surgery was Thursday.
``He has really turned the corner,'' Cheri Summerall said in a story Friday on The Dallas Morning News' Web site. ``The doctors are thrilled with Pat's progress. We are expecting a full recovery.''
Summerall, a former NFL kicker and lineman, underwent a liver transplant four years ago and hip replacement surgery in January.
