FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis says he was not playing head games with the New York Jets when he said he felt lightheaded during practice Monday and sat out a few plays.
A day after staging what appeared to be a protest of his stalled contract negotiations, Revis says Tuesday he actually hadn’t eaten before practice Monday and legitimately felt “a little lightheaded.”
Defensive backs coach Dennis Thurman told him to take a short break, and Revis went to the sideline. After practice, Revis said his head had bothered him and “a hamstring pull, too.” He says he embellished on the hamstring part.
Revis is frustrated by his contract situation, but has no regrets about his approach. He added he wants “to be a Jet forever.”
