FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -Mark Sanchez’s surgically repaired left knee is feeling good, and the New York Jets quarterback is confident he will be able to fully participate during the team’s minicamp in less than two weeks.
Sanchez had the patella-stabilizing ligament in the knee repaired in February, and he has participated in individual and passing drills since organized team activities began a few weeks ago.
He has only been involved in one 11-on-11 drill – a handoff last week – but said Thursday that the fact he has had no swelling in the knee means he’s nearly 100 percent.
Sanchez adds that he has a greater grasp of the offense after studying all offseason, and coach Rex Ryan says the quarterback is throwing the ball better than he did last year.
