IRVING, Texas (AP) -Terrell Owens will get his $3 million roster bonus from the Dallas Cowboys even though, like several other starters, he hasn't been practicing with the team.
Owens will get that bonus, plus a $5 million salary for the 2007 season, since he was still on the roster Friday, when he was again absent from voluntary organized team activities.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had repeatedly said since the end of last season that Owens, who had 85 catches for 1,180 yards and an NFL-high 13 touchdowns, would remain with the team. Jones wasn't made available for comment Friday.
Terry Glenn, the other starting receiver, has also missed organized team activities this week. Glenn got a $5 million roster bonus in March, but his salary will only be about $820,000.
Among other players who have missed training the past two weeks are running back Julius Jones, Pro Bowl safety Roy Williams and linebacker DeMarcus Ware.
Owens took part in the mandatory minicamp two weeks ago while recovering from two operations this offseason to repair a torn tendon in his right ring finger. He caught passes and took part in offensive drills without any problems from the finger.
The Cowboys gave Owens a $25 million, three-year contract when they signed him in the spring of 2006.
