ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -Cornerback Jason Webster agreed to a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills on Monday, a move to bolster the team's inexperienced defensive backfield.
A seven-year veteran, Webster spent the past three seasons playing with Atlanta before being released by the Falcons on May 10. He'll immediately compete for a starting job in Buffalo after the team lost Nate Clements to free agency this offseason.
Because of injuries, Webster hasn't played a complete season since 2002 with San Francisco. Webster has appeared in only 38 games over the past four seasons, and missed the final eight games of last year with a torn groin muscle.
He was considered a bust in Atlanta, failing to measure up to expectations after the team signed him to a six-year contract that included a $7 million bonus.
Kansas City, Seattle and Detroit expressed interest in Webster since he was released by Atlanta.
Webster was traveling to Buffalo on Monday and was expected to take part in the team's voluntary minicamp Tuesday.
M product has 11 interceptions and six forced fumbles in 86 career games.
