HOUSTON (AP) -Houston Texans receiver Andre Johnson plans to rejoin the team after missing the first three voluntary practices over a contract dispute.
Johnson’s uncle and agent Andre Melton told the Houston Chronicle and Houston TV station KRIV that Johnson will attend Thursday’s practice after a productive meeting Wednesday with the team’s front office.
Johnson told KRIV that he decided his sitting out was not helping the team and that he hopes his teammates understand his situation.
Johnson has five years left on an eight-year contract worth $60 million that included $15 million in guarantees.
Johnson is entering his eighth season. He has had more than 1,500 yards receiving in each of the last two seasons.
