RENTON, Wash. (AP) - Pete Carroll spent the first day of Seattle's rookie minicamp with a watchful eye on some of the offensive prospects the Seahawks selected in last month's draft.
That was after Carroll and his coaches watched film Friday morning of quarterback Russell Wilson's first practice at the same camp a year ago. The message from watching Wilson's tape: It might not look good at first, but some of these rookies could end up really contributing.
That could be harder for this season's batch of Seattle rookies than any of the previous three under Carroll. An already young and loaded roster has made the Seahawks a popular Super Bowl pick months before the season begins.
One rookie that stood out to Carroll was running back Christine Michael, Seattle's second-round pick. Carroll was impressed by Michael's quickness.
