IRVING, Texas (AP) Dallas owner Jerry Jones says he has ruled out re-signing Greg Hardy after one tumultuous season with the polarizing defensive end.
Jones acknowledged Friday night what appeared to be the case for weeks. The Cowboys didn’t want to bring back the unsigned Hardy after several disruptions in 2015, some related to his domestic violence case in North Carolina.
After a four-game suspension, Hardy was productive in his first few games for Dallas. But as the losses mounted in a 4-12 season, his production dropped off significantly.
Hardy also made headlines through questionable posts on social media and comments to reporters about New England quarterback Tom Brady’s wife.
His conviction for attacking his ex-girlfriend was thrown out because the woman couldn’t be located to testify in an appeal.
