ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -Ndamukong Suh says he has to start off at “ground zero” because being the No. 2 pick in the NFL draft is no longer relevant.
Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz says Suh got that message Friday during the first of a three-day rookie orientation camp.
Schwartz says all rookies have to prove themselves all over again and undrafted players, such as Army’s Caleb Campbell, will get a chance to show what they can do.
Suh looked impressive physically with a toned, 6-foot-3 frame that carries about 300 pounds during an afternoon workout in helmets, shorts and cleats. Schwartz says that’s one of the reasons Detroit drafted Suh second overall last week, adding he has the body to carry a big workload.
