LAS VEGAS (AP) -Prosecutors in Las Vegas plan to call former Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker to testify against a man accused of robbing and beating him almost two years ago.
Walker will be a star witness for a jury due to start hearing the case Wednesday against 42-year-old Deshawn Lamont Thomas.
Thomas is a repeat felon facing multiple charges that could get him life in prison.
A 32-year-old co-defendant, Arfat Abdo Fadel, pleaded guilty Friday in a plea deal that could get him up to 15 years in prison.
Walker is now 31 and was released by the Raiders last month.
Police say he got into a vehicle with Thomas and Fadel after club-hopping in June 2008, before being robbed and left unconscious on a street off the Las Vegas Strip.
