NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (AP) -Suspended NFL star Michael Vick is expected to make his case in court for returning to the NFL when he finishes his prison sentence.
Vick’s lawyer, Michael Blumenthal, told a bankruptcy judge that Vick would testify Friday in Virginia about his plans for after he is released from his conviction for bankrolling a dogfighting operation.
Vick’s agent, Joel Segal (SEE’-guhl), testified Thursday that he hoped Vick could return to the NFL by September. League Commissioner Roger Goodell would have to reinstate Vick, who was suspended indefinitely after his indictment in 2007.
In the meantime, Vick’s lawyer says he plans to work for $10 an hour in construction.
