TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -Offensive lineman Elton Brown signed his qualifying offer from Arizona, and the Cardinals re-signed four other players, including wide receiver Jerheme Urban and defensive tackle Joe Tafoya, on Wednesday.
The team also re-signed wide receiver Ahmad Merritt and defensive end Bo Schobel.
Brown, a fourth-round draft pick by Arizona out of Virginia in 2005, appeared in nine games for the Cardinals last season, five as a starter at right tackle.
Urban appeared in 10 games in 2007 after being claimed off waivers from Dallas. He caught 22 passes for 329 yards and two touchdowns.
Tafoya played in 13 games with a career-high seven starts last season. He had 21 tackles, also a career best, 14 of them solo, with two sacks.
Merritt spent all of last season on injured reserve after hurting an ankle in preseason. Schobel played in two games and had two tackles after signing as a free agent last November.
