CLEVELAND (AP) -Cleveland Browns Pro Bowl nose tackle Shaun Rogers is taking part in the club’s voluntary offseason workout program after missing the first week in an apparent rift with new coach Eric Mangini.
In a video clip on the team’s Web site, Rogers is shown shaking hands and hugging a teammate in the weight room at the Browns’ training facility in Berea.
Mangini said at the owner’s meetings in California that he has spoken with Rogers, who had reportedly asked to be traded or released.
Rogers made the Pro Bowl in his first season with Cleveland. The Browns acquired the 6-foot-4, 350-pounder in a trade last March with Detroit for cornerback Leigh Bodden. He arrived with a reputation of being uncooperative with the media, overweight and having a poor work ethic.
However, the 30-year-old was no trouble and had a solid first season.
