PITTSBURGH (AP) -The Pittsburgh Steelers have released wide receiver Cedrick Wilson a day after he was charged with assaulting his girlfriend at a suburban restaurant.
The Steelers did not immediately comment beyond the two-paragraph release Thursday that says Wilson's contract has been terminated.
Wilson signed with the Steelers as a free agent out of San Francisco in March 2005.
Wilson caught 81 passes for 1,162 yards and two touchdowns in three seasons with the Steelers.
