FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) -Colts coach Jim Caldwell says he’s become a lot more comfortable as a public speaker during Super Bowl week.
The quiet Caldwell coach has never been fond of big speeches or long answers, but there’s no getting around it as the Super Bowl approaches. He’s embraced the role as Indianapolis prepares for Sunday’s game against New Orleans.
Caldwell is trying to become the first rookie coach to win a Super Bowl title since San Francisco’s George Seifert after the 1989 season. The only other rookie coach to win a title was Baltimore’s Don McCafferty in January 1971.
But if Caldwell’s Colts beat the Saints on Sunday, he’ll have even more to discuss.
