MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -Vikings great Carl Eller is scheduled to appear in court Monday, as a Hennepin County judge rules on criminal charges stemming from his alleged clash with police.
The 67-year-old Eller faces one count of assault on a Minneapolis police officer and one count of refusal to submit to a field sobriety test.
Two more serious charges against Eller were dropped earlier this month in a deal with prosecutors.
Two police officers say Eller attacked and threatened to kill them after they tried to pull him over April 9 for suspected drunken driving.
Meanwhile, Eller has sued the police department in federal court, claiming they violated his civil rights.
