FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) – Say this much about Rex Ryan: At least he’s consistent.
A day after the New York Jets’ second straight disappointing loss in the AFC championship game, their brash and ever-confident coach was at it again – as always. He says Monday that despite the 24-19 defeat at Pittsburgh, he believes his team will someday be Super Bowl champions.
That was a proclamation Ryan has made since he was hired more than two years ago, and has fallen just short twice. But this made-for-TV season was a doozy, filled with controversies, scandals and some exciting football.
Ryan predicts big things for his team next year, although he knows there could be lots of new faces as the Jets have some difficult personnel decisions to make in the offseason.
