ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -A person familiar with the decision says Chan Gailey has been hired as coach of the Buffalo Bills and will be introduced at an afternoon news conference.
The person spoke to The Associated Press on Tuesday on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to announce the move.
The Buffalo News and FoxSports.com first reported on Monday that Gailey had emerged as the top candidate and was expected to become the team’s coach this week.
Gailey has 38 years of coaching experience, including 15 in the NFL. That includes a two-year stint with the Cowboys in 1998-99, during which he led Dallas to consecutive playoff appearances.
