FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) – Deion Branch says it would have been crazy if he had been told at the start of the season that he’d be in the playoffs with the New England Patriots.
Yet that’s where he’ll be on Sunday when they face the New York Jets in a divisional playoff game.
Branch began the season with the Seattle Seahawks, but was traded on Oct. 12 after four games. The deal reunited him with Tom Brady, the quarterback with whom he spent his first four seasons before being traded to Seattle after the first game in 2006.
Branch said Tuesday the opportunity to return to the Patriots was a blessing. He caught nine passes in his first game with the team and finished with 48 receptions in 11 games with New England.
