INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Coach Jim Caldwell will spend the next few weeks making evaluations, catching up on draft work and reflecting on the Colts accomplishments.
He’d rather be preparing for a few more games.
One day after the defending AFC champions were eliminated by the Jets, Caldwell refused to blame Indy’s latest playoff exit on a crushing list of injuries that left 18 players on injured reserve.
Now the Colts head into a busy offseason and critical offseason.
The top priority, of course, is re-signing four-time league MVP Peyton Manning. But he’s not the only one. Other potential free agents include running back Joseph Addai and kicker Adam Vinatieri, and the Colts still don’t know what constraints they’ll be working with in the new labor deal.
