LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) – Chicago Bears general manager Jerry Angelo says he has no plans to step aside after this season.
A year ago, many fans were calling for him and coach Lovie Smith to be dismissed.
Now, the Bears are back in the playoffs for the first time since the 2006 team’s Super Bowl run, with a first-round bye after going 11-5 and winning the NFC North.
Angelo says he’s not about to gloat, adding “you always kept me humble.” He also dismissed speculation that he might step down.
