FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -Bart Scott wanted the New York Jets to become closer as a team.
They had lost six of seven and their postseason hopes were quickly becoming improbable. So, the chatty linebacker invited everyone to his place for Thanksgiving, beginning what turned into a weekly hangout session where the guys would eat, play games, vent and really get to know one another every Monday night.
Linebacker Calvin Pace compared Scott’s place in New Jersey to Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch with all its room and toys. He’s got classic arcade games such as Pac-Man, a pool table, big-screen TV – you name it.
Many players credit the bonding at Bart’s with helping them become a more cohesive team, and the playoff-bound Jets have won five of six since.
