FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -New York Jets linebacker David Harris has a sprained ankle and his availability for the team’s wild-card playoff game at Cincinnati on Saturday is uncertain.
Harris was injured in the first half of the Jets’ 37-0 victory over the Bengals on Sunday night and was replaced by Ryan Fowler at middle linebacker. Coach Rex Ryan said Fowler finished the game despite taking a blow to the head at some point, and his status also is unclear.
If Harris and Fowler can’t play, Kenwin Cummings would step in.
Losing Harris would be a huge blow to the Jets’ top-ranked defense. He leads the team in tackles and has 5 1/2 sacks and two interceptions.
