INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Peyton Manning has set another NFL record just by taking a snap.
The only four-time MVP in league history made his 208th consecutive start to open a career Sunday against Tennessee. Manning had tied Gene Upshaw’s previous mark, 207, last weekend at Oakland.
Manning has never missed a start in 13 NFL seasons. When playoff games are included, Manning’s streak of consecutive starts is 226.
Only one quarterback, Brett Favre, has played in more consecutive games. Favre’s streak of 297 straight regular-season starts ended earlier this season.
Manning could also break Dan Marino’s record of 63 300-yard games in a career Sunday, and he needs three touchdowns passing to become the third member of the 400 club.
