Line on the move for TNF game
ST. LOUIS, MO (The Spread) – The Rams host the Cardinals tonight in a key NFC West matchup that has seen the line move in the last couple of hours.
The Rams opened as only 3-point home favorites but the line moved up to 4.5 by Tuesday morning of this week. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the line for this game is now up to 5.5 in favor of the Rams while the over/under total is currently sitting at 40.5 after opening at 40 points.
The Rams are coming off back-to-back shutouts of the Raiders and Redskins, respectively, and will face an Arizona offense that has struggled with Drew Stanton under center. Stanton was overwhelmed three weeks ago in a loss to the Seahawks, struggled two weeks ago versus a horrible Falcons defense, and did barely enough to help the Cardinals beat the Chiefs last Sunday. In other words, it could be a rough night for Stanton if he’s inaccurate tonight as he has been. The Cardinals’ O-line is also banged up and will face a relentless Rams’ front four.
That said, the Cardinals are 10-4 against the spread in their last 14 games versus the Rams and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games in St. Louis. They’re also 12-2 ATs in their last 14 games versus a team with a losing record, 6-1 ATS in their last seven games in December and 11-3 ATS in their last 14 games versus NFC opponents. They are, however, 0-4 ATS in their last four Thursday games.
