Trends favor Falcons on Monday night
GREEN BAY, WI (The Spread) – Public bettors are hammering the Packers tonight in their Monday Night Football matchup with the Falcons but believe it or not, the trends support the underdog.
The underdog is 6-2 against the spread in the last eight meetings between these two teams while the road team is an impressive 7-1 against the number in the last eight meetings. Both of those trends favor Atlanta, which is a perfect 4-0 at the betting window in its last four trips to Green Bay and Lambeau Field.
One of those covers came a year ago when the Falcons traveled to Green Bay to take on an Aaron Rodgers-less Pack team that was favored by 3.5 points. The Falcons actually led that game 21-10 at halftime but in typical Atlanta fashion under head coach Mike Smith, it came out flat in the second half and was held scoreless in the final two quarters. Despite losing the game, the Falcons still covered the 3.5-point spread in a 22-21 loss.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Packers ae 13-point home favorites over the Falcons for tonight’s 8:30PM ET matchup while the over/under total is currently sitting at 54.5 points. As of this writing, 76% of public bettors currently favor Green Bay minus the points at home.
