Bears vs. Lions Free Pick
Detroit, MI (TheSpread) – The Chicago Bears made some noise last week with their victory over the Eagles. Now they’ll try and avoid a letdown this Sunday when they travel to Ford Field to take on a decimated Detroit Lions team at 1:00PM ET.
According to Week 13 NFL odds and oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, the Bears are 5.5-point favorites over the Lions on Sunday. The over/under total for this game is currently 43.5 points.
The Bears improved to 8-3 with their win over the Eagles last Sunday. They’re 6-4-1 against the spread this year according to latest NFL trends, and have covered in three of their four games on the road this year. They’re also 3-1 away from Solider Field.
The Lions dropped to 2-9 with another embarrassing loss to the Patriots on Thanksgiving Day. They have covered in seven of their first 11 games this season, which includes a 4-1 ATS record at Ford Field.
NFL Week 13 Free Pick
It appears as though the Lions’ run of covering games is coming to a halting stop. While Detroit has been solid against the number this year (especially at home), these two teams are heading in different directions. Jay Cutler has played incredibly well the past couple of weeks and so has Chicago’s offensive line, which continues to improve every Sunday now. The Bears’ defense will contain Jahvid Best and fluster an inexperienced Drew Stanton, who is starting because of an injury to Shaun Hill. The Lions may put up a strong effort in the first half, but as long as Cutler protects the ball and continues to be turnover free, he should light up an inconsistent Detroit secondary. Our pick is the Bears -5.5.
