The Saints have won three straight and scored 34 points in their last two games. While the offense is a big success, thanks to the play of Drew Brees, the New Orleans defense has been solid this year as well. The Saints are allowing just 17 points and 291.7 yards per game on defense this year. They rank second in pass defense, allowing just 186 yards through the air per game. On offense, the Saints are scoring 23.5 points per game and they average 286.8 passing yards per game. Brees has thrown for 2,969 yards and 22 touchdowns on the season to go along with 14 interceptions.
Dallas has lost two straight, scoring at least 33 points in the last two victories. The Cowboys are averaging 22.9 points per game on offense, including 272.7 yards through the air. Backup quarterback Jon Kitna has thrown for 1,223 yards and 10 touchdowns in place of the injured Tony Romo. The Dallas defense has struggled, allowing 27.1 points and 352.4 yards per game.
In terms of injuries, Saints running back Reggie Bush is again expected to play on Thursday as he recovers from a knee injury while tight end Jeremy Shockey is questionable with a rib injury. Dallas running back Felix Jones is questionable with a hip injury.
