Cowboys vs. 49ers Pick
Can another big injury keep the Dallas Cowboys from being able to compete on offense with the San Francisco 49ers when they meet on Sunday at 4:25PM ET?
According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Cowboys are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -2 points against the 49ers. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 45 points. The road team has won four of the last five in this series and they have hit the over in six of their last seven encounters.
The Cowboys seemed to have some momentum going following a 31-17 win over the Bears last Sunday night to improve to 2-1 on the season. However, that changed when they found out Dez Bryant has a hairline fracture in his leg that will likely sideline him for a game or two. Already without Tony Romo, the Cowboys have still managed to average 25.7 points and 389.7 yards per game on offense this season. Dak Prescott has thrown for 767 yards and a touchdown in three games while Ezekiel Elliott has been the workhorse with 274 rushing yards on 71 carries. Defensively, Dallas may need to step up this week. The Cowboys are giving up 20 points and 387 yards per game, including nearly 300 passing yards per contest.
The 49ers are coming off a 37-18 loss at Seattle last week for their second straight loss. The offense is really struggling, putting up just 294 yards per game right now. Blaine Gabbert has thrown for just 532 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions through three games. Carlos Hyde has run for four touchdowns and 225 yards to lead the offense. Defensively, San Francisco hasn’t been as bad as the numbers may show. They are giving up 27.7 points and 386.3 yards per game, but have been on the field a lot. As a unit, they have five sacks and eight turnovers.

While Dallas has been moving the ball well without Romo, not having Bryant will change things. The 49ers should be able to focus heavily on stopping Elliott, who has been the focal point of the offense. On the other side, San Francisco is a mess on offense and Dallas shouldn’t have too much trouble keeping them in check on most possessions. Look for this game to be a defensive grind with a low total.
