Jets vs. Bills Week 1 Prediction
Many pundits believe that the Bills are now the team to beat in the AFC East with Tom Brady no longer in New England. Meanwhile, the Jets are expected to challenge the Dolphins for fourth in the division and are catching 6.5 points in Buffalo on Sunday. Will the Bills cover this Week 1 matchup?

Jets coach Adam Gase said the team’s rash of receiver injuries hasn’t affected QB Sam Darnold and has been “good for his brain.” The “variety” of wideout groupings and the “adjustments” Darnold has had to make during August practices is actually good for the Jets’ franchise quarterback, Gase insists. Chris Herndon and Jamison Crowder would continue to be prime targets for Darnold, Gase said, adding that Darnold would continue to look for those two pass catchers “when it’s crunch time.” Breshad Perriman remains out of practice with a knee injury, and rookie WR Denzel Mims has missed two weeks of practice with a hurt hamstring. We’re not sure about how the team’s receiver injury woes will affect Darnold’s brain health, but we do know Crowder and Herndon are in line from a boatload of early-season targets.
Buffalo Bills DFS Spin
Speaking earlier this week, Josh Allen said he hopes to run less often this season. “My mindset this year is a little different,” Allen said. “I’m going to try to get the ball into my playmakers’ hands and let them make some plays, because they’re a lot quicker and shiftier than I am. But when my number is called, I’ll step up to the plate for sure.” Allen isn’t suddenly going to abandon one of his signature skills, but he is correct that he has to start creating more big plays in the passing game. 500 remains a reasonable over/under for his rushing yardage.
Jets vs. Bills Betting Prediction
The Bills added WR Stefon Diggs this offseason in a trade with the Vikings and they already had some good offensive pieces around Allen in RB Devin Singletary and wideouts John Brown and Cole Beasley. The Jets’ secondary is a mess and that was before the team traded outstanding safety Jamal Adams to the Seahawks this offseason. Allen continues to battle with inconsistency, but he should exploit this matchup with New York. On the other side, expect Darnold to struggle against one of the better defenses in the league. The Jets simply don’t have enough talent.
