Lions vs. Bears Updated Odds
NFC North rivals clash at Solider Field this Sunday when the Chicago Bears host the Detroit Lions. Let’s take a look at the matchup.
Game Preview:
Matthew Stafford enters this season after receiving a fair amount of starting experience as a rookie last year. He’ll have more weapons at his disposal this year in the offense, namely rookie running back Jahvid Best and receiver Nate Burelson. Defensively, Detroit added big defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh in April’s draft.
The Bears made a slew of moves this offseason, including hiring Mike Martz as their offensive coordinator and signing free agents Julius Peppers and Chester Taylor. It remains to be seen whether or not Jay Cutler is a fit in Martz’s system, but at least he’ll have a couple of budding receivers in Johnny Knox, Devin Aromashodu and Devin Hester.
Line Movement & Updated Odds:
When the line for this game opened on April 24, oddsmakers established the Bears a 7-point favorite and the line has stayed relatively consistent over the last couple of months. It got as low as –6 on August 29, but oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com currently list Chicago at –6.5.
