The New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers used to have dominant defenses and running games. They became more finesse squads with strong passing games as their defense started to age. Both teams are trying to rebuilding their defense and running game. That means competition at running back for both squads. The Giants have David Wilson and Andre Brown competing for playing time, while the Steelers hope that rookie Le'Veon Bell can overtake Jonathan Dywer and Isaac Redman. Defensively, Pittsburgh lost linebacker James Harrison and nose tackle Casey Hampton and safety Troy Polamalu can't seem to stay healthy. They brought in Bruce Gradkowski to back up Ben Roethlisberger and drafted Landry Jones from Oklahoma. The Giants also drafted a quarterback in Ryan Nassib, who should push David Carr for the backup job to Eli Manning. Both teams are trying to use younger players to replace aging veterans and that can take time for them to adjust. Expect a high-scoring game.
