New York Guardians Latest
Luis Perez started last week for the Guardians and led the team to a narrow 17-14 win over the Wildcats. Perez was 18-of-26 for 150 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions. Darius Victor also rushed 18 times for 82 yards while the New York defense held L.A. to just 14 points.
Dallas Renegades Latest
Landry Jones completed 25-of-38 pass attempts for 205 yards with one touchdown but also threw three interceptions in a 27-20 loss. The former Steeler signal-caller has struggled with interceptions this season, tossing seven on the year while only throwing for five touchdowns. Nevertheless, the Renegades are 2-1 in his three starts on the year.
Game Prediction
The Guardians may have come away with a win last week at home, but the Wildcats gained more yards per play (5.7 to 2.7), completed passes at a higher yards per pass clip (8.1 to 5.8) and gained more total net yards (345 to 250) than New York. More times than not, a team that wins in those three categories would also win the game. While Dallas hasn’t been overly impressive, the Renegades should win this game easily if Jones can protect the football. This is a mismatch that should have a line that is closer to double-digits than seven.
XFL Week 5 Prediction: Dallas Renegades -7
