Mike Bell Prop Odds
Mike Bell was a pleasant surprise for the New Orleans Saints this season, but will he make a big impact against the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV?
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have complied prop wagers on Mike Bell for Super Bowl Sunday, which include how many rushing yards Bell will accumulate, as well as how many total attempts he’ll finish with.
Bell wasn’t expected to make much of an impact for the Saints in 2009 with Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas already on the roster, but Bell wound up finishing with 654 yards and five touchdowns on 172 carries this season. He made a huge splash in Week 1 of the season against the Lions when he rushed for a whopping 143 yards on 28 carries, although he failed to reach the end zone.
In the Divisional Round against the Cardinals, Bell finished with only 11 yards on six carries and didn’t record a single catch. He did have a 7-yard touchdown called back on a holding penalty, although he showed little to no burst and elusiveness on the six carries he did accumulate.
Bell didn’t record a single carry against the Vikings in the NFC Championship Game, which was a telling sign that Sean Payton would rather go with Thomas and Bush in the backfield at this point in the year. That makes all of the “under” wagers on Bell for Super Bowl XLIV incredibly appealing. Assuming he plays, he may only see a handful of carries.
