Super Bowl Commercials Odds
ARLINGTON, TX (The Spread) – As everyone knows, not every person who tunes into the Super Bowl pays attention to the game. In fact, many folks socialize during the game and shut up for the commercials. So which commercials will have the highest ratings in the 2011 Super Bowl?

Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com has compiled prop odds for the commercials for this year’s Super Bowl. For the prop, “Which Super Bowl Commercial Will Have a Higher Rating on USA Today’s Annual Ad Meter?” Bud Light and Budweiser are both 11/4, while Doritos is 11/2 and Pepsi Max is 6/1.
GoDaddy.com (10/1), Skechers (12/1) and Teleflora (15/1) are the long shots, while the field (any other commercial) is technically the favorite at 5/2.
In 2010, Mars’ Snickers “Guy plays football like Betty White” commercial was No. 1 in the USA Today’s Ad Meter results, while Doritos’ “Dog puts shock collar on owner” ad was second. Rounding out the top five were Bud Light’s “Man builds house out of beer cans,” Budweiser’s “Fences don’t come in between friends” and Coca-Cola’s “African sleepwalker finally gets Coke” ad.
In 2009, Doritos “Crystal ball sees free Doritos” ad received the highest score on USA Today’s Ad Meter results, scoring an 8.46. Right behind it was Budweiser’s “Clydesdale’s romance with circus horse” ad, which received an 8.42. Budweiser’s “A Clydesdale can fetch” ad was third with a score of 8.26. Both of the Budweiser ads were aired in the second quarter, while the Doritos’ ad was shown in the first.
Considering Doritos finished in the top 2 each of the last two years, a wager on one of their commercials being the highest rated on the USA Today’s Annual Ad Meter doesn’t seem like a bad bet.
