According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com, the Packers are currently 2.5-point favorites over the Steelers in Super Bowl XLV. The over/under total for this game is sitting at 44 points.
Steelers Trends: Pittsburgh is 4-0 against the number in its last four games overall and 9-1 ATS in its last 10 playoff games. The Steelers are also 4-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record and 4-1 ATS in their lat five playoff games as an underdog.
Pittsburgh is 16-5-1 against the spread in its last 22 games as an underdog of 0.5-3.0 points, and is 34-16-1 in its last 51 games as an underdog. That said, the Steelers are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games after accumulating less than 150 passing yards in their previous game.
Packers Trends: Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are 5-1 against the number versus a team with a winning record and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. The Packers are also 4-0 ATS in their last four games after accumulating more than 350 total yards in their previous game and 6-2 in their last eight games as a favorite.
Green Bay is 12-5-1 ATS in its last 18 games following an ATS win and 8-3-1 in its lat 12 games on fieldturf. The Packers are 6-2 against the number in their last eight games as a favorite, but just 2-5 ATS in their last seven playoff games as the fav.
Over/Under Trends: The over is 4-0 in Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers’ last four games as an underdog and 5-1 in their last six playoff games as an underdog. It’s also 4-1 in their last five games overall and 16-5 in their last 21 playoff games.
The under is 6-1 in the Packers’ last seven games following a straight up win and 8-3 in their last 11 games following an ATS win. The under is also 9-4 in the Packers’ last 13 games versus a team with a winning record and 5-2 in their last seven games as a favorite of 0.5-3.0.
Super Bowl Trends: In last year’s Super Bowl, the Colts were 4.5-point favorites over the Saints at kickoff, although New Orleans won outright, 31-17. In the last 10 Super Bowls, the favorite is 5-5 straight up and 2-8 against the spread. The only favorites to cover in their Super Bowl in the last decade were the Colts (-7) in 2006 against the Bears, and the Steelers (-3) over the Seahawks in Super Bowl XL.
The last time the Packers were in the Super Bowl was in 1995 when they beat the Patriots 35-21 as a 14-point favorite. A year later, Green Bay lost outright 31-24 as an 11.5-point favorite over Denver.
