SEATTLE, WA (The Spread) – Eddie Lacy has emerged as a steady back for the Packers and he may need to step up in Sunday’s NFC Championship given Aaron Rodgers’ injury. Can he do it?
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Lacy has been given an over/under of 72.5 rushing yards and 16.5 rushing attempts for this game. His odds of scoring a touchdown has been set at +115. The Packers will meet the Seahawks on Sunday at 3:05PM ET on FOX in the NFC Championship Game.
Lacy has been a powerful running option for the Packers this season, as he has rushed for 1,139 yards and nine touchdowns on 246 carries. He is averaging 71.2 yards per game thus far on the season. He has also caught 42 passes for 427 yards and four touchdowns. In last week’s win over the Cowboys, Lacy put up 101 yards on 19 carries but didn’t score. In the first meeting with Seattle back on Sept. 4, Lacy was held to 34 yards on 12 carries and also kept out of the end zone.
Lacy has rushed for at least 73 yards in eight games this season and done so in seven straight coming into Sunday’s title game. He has been given at least 17 carries in six games and has scored a touchdown in nine different games this year. Lacy will be going up against the third-ranked rushing defense in the NFL in Seattle, as the Seahawks are allowing just 81.5 rushing yards per game.
