SEATTLE, WA (The Spread) – Despite a calf injury, Aaron Rodgers will need a big performance in Sunday’s NFC Championship if the Packers are going to beat the Seahawks. Will he lead Green Bay to success?
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Rodgers has been given an over/under of 260.5 passing with 22.5 completions and 2 touchdown passes against the Seahawks. The Packers will meet the Seahawks on Sunday at 3:05PM ET on FOX in the NFC Championship Game.
Rodgers has had an MVP-caliber season, as he has thrown for 4,381 yards and 38 touchdowns with just 5 interceptions. He has completed 65.6 percent of his passes this season, going 341 of 520 passing.
Rodgers has been dealing with a calf tear that has his mobility limited, but he still was 24 of 35 passing for 316 yards and three touchdowns against the Cowboys last week. In the season-opener at Seattle, Rodgers was 23 of 33 passing for 189 yards with one touchdown.
Rodgers has been a pretty consistent player, throwing for at least 261 yards in 10 of Green Bay’s 17 games this season. He has had at least two touchdown passes in 12 games while completing at least 23 passes in eight games. Rodgers will be going up against the league’s best passing defense in Seattle, which is giving up just 185.6 yards per game through the air.
