SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) – Big East teams know all about Connecticut’s Jordan Todman. He ran past them all season.
Outside the conference? Even as the nation’s second-leading rusher, not too many people know him.
Todman’s looking to change that in the New Year’s Day Fiesta Bowl, when his 25th-ranked Huskies face No. 9 Oklahoma.
The Big East offensive player of the year, Todman ran for 1,574 yards, second only to Oregon’s Heisman Trophy finalist LaMichael James.
But because Todman plays at a school known more for basketball in a conference having a down year, he didn’t get the recognition he might have elsewhere. He was a second-team All-American and wasn’t in the Heisman Trophy conversation.
