TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -The big goals have been gone for a while. That doesn’t mean Arizona and Arizona State don’t still have something to play for.
Of course, there’s bragging rights. That comes with every rivalry game.
But there are bowl implications, too.
Arizona became bowl eligible over a month ago, but the type of bowl it gets into might depend on beating Arizona State. The Wildcats have lost three straight games and could slip farther down bowl games’ wish lists with a loss to the Sun Devils.
Arizona State, thanks to last week’s win over UCLA, still has a shot at a bowl despite its losing record. The Sun Devils will need to beat Arizona and get a waiver from the NCAA to get in, though, because two of their wins were against FCS schools.
